Contact Ryan Salma, President, at president@sffr.org for futher information.
Saturday Run 9:00 AM This is our largest weekly event - often over 100 runners and walkers participate!
We meet at Stow Lake Boathouse in Golden Gate Park, rain,or shine.
Regular runs/walks include:
- Stow Lake: 1 mile run/walk around the lake.
- Carousel: 3 mile run through the east end of the park.
- Bison: 4 mile run through the west end of the park.
- Beach: 5 mile run to the Ocean and back.
- Strawberry Hill Run: 3 Hill Runs up Strawberry Hill located in the center of Stow Lake.
A lot of us have Brunch afterwards (around 10:30am) at Morning Due (17th/Church Sts.) except for the 2nd Saturday of the month when we have a Bagel Brunch in the Stow Lake upper picnic area. Go to the Home page for details.
Take Kennedy Drive to the Boathouse at Stow Lake. During the summer months when Kennedy Drive is closed, Visitors and Guests can use this alternate route.
- Enter Golden Gate Park from Panhandle (Fell St) and drive along main road John Kennedy Drive.
- Make a left at Tea Garden Drive (de Young Museum). {You will notice temporary gates indicating that the park is closed at this location and you must turn left}.
- At the end of Tea Garden Drive, turn right on to Martin Luther King Drive.
- As you drive along MLK Drive, pass the first road along your right (very easy to miss as there is no street sign, but there is a one-way arrow sign).
- Alternate: You can also enter the Park from 9th Avenue, crossing Lincoln Way and then connect to Martin Luther King Drive
- Make a right at the next road (again, no sign to identify road). Notice that I placed a blue dot on the map to identify approximate location.
- Drive along this road (which is actually Strawberry Hill Road) until you reach the Stow Lake Boat House (circled in red) and park anywhere after reaching the Boat House along the side
of the road.
New participants are always
welcome at any weekly run!
