Train for the SF Marathon with Shanti!
Training runs from May 5 through July 29.
Join Shanti for the 3rd season of Shanti C.A.R.E.S. (Compassionate Athletes Running to Enhance Services), an adult half-marathon training and fundraising group supporting Shanti’s mission of providing practical and emotional support to San Francisco’s most vulnerable individuals living with life-threatening illnesses, such as HIV/AIDS and breast cancer. Participants of Shanti C.A.R.E.S. will be training for The San Francisco Marathon (the half) on July 29. 2012 and will receive professional training from RUN365's RRCA and USATF Certified Coaches!
When you sign-up to be a part of Shanti C.A.R.E.S., you will have the option to receive: TOP NOTCH training from RUN 365, which includes RRCA and USATF Certified Coaches and experienced pacers who support trainees step by step along their journey towards race day; FUNDRAISING TIPS AND GUIDANCE throughout the season; A SUPPORTIVE AND MOTIVATED TEAM OF RUNNERS; EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS on running shoes, running gear, sports nutrition and sports psychology; and THE SATISFACTION OF KNOWING YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO RUN A HALF-MARATHON WHILE CONTRIBUTING TO THE WELL-BEING OF ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL LIVING WITH A LIFE-THREATENING ILLNESS.
Participants of Shanti C.A.R.E.S. will be asked to raise a minimum of $900 during the season contributing to an overall team fundraising goal. Shanti C.A.R.E.S. members will register for the San Francisco Marathon and 12-week RUN 365 training program while paying the appropriate registration fees. However, once (and only once) you meet the suggested $900 fundraising minimum, Shanti will happily reimburse your registration and training fees- a $230 value!
