
Happy Monday! Here is your weekly source of all things FrontRunners that are coming in the days ahead! Special news and events are at the beginning of this post and regular, reoccurring events are on the lower half.
Special Events/News This Week:
-Announcement: We are seeking members who are interested in club positions for Secretary, Women’s Outreach, and Newcomer Outreach. If interested, please contact anyone on the board or send an email to board@sffr.org
-Pre-SF Marathon Pasta Party - Saturday, July 28th - 5:00PM to 7:00PM - Richard Ervais is hosting a fun party the evening before the SF Marathon. The cost is free and the event is open to all SFFR members, as well as volunteers. Please RSVP to Richard Ervais by June 25th. Full info here (link). See you there!
-SF Marathon Water Station - Sunday, July 29th - If you have volunteered for the water station during the SF Marathon, you will be receiving a reminder and instructions this week on when and where to meet (if you haven't received one already).
Birthdays This Week:
The following SF FrontRunner has a birthday this week: John Patterson (July 23), Michael Merriman (July 24), David Tennyson (July 29), Paul Molina (July 29). Happy Birthday!
Regular Events This Week:
-Tuesday Evening Walk/Run - 6:30PM: Meet at the Ferry Building for a 3 mile (5K), 4 mile (6.5K), 5 mile (8K), or hill run along Embarcadero. We typically grab dinner after.
-Saturday Morning Walk/Run - 9:00AM: Meet at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park for a 1, 2, 3 (5K), 4 (6.5K), and 5 (8K) mile run/walk. We also now offer the Cross Training option that meets immediately after First Circle to go over the routine for that day. We meet back at Stow Lake for 2nd circle at 10:00AM and then head to brunch at Morning Due or elsewhere.
-Sunday Long Run - 10:00AM: Meet at Gold’s Gym in the Castro for a long run (70 to 100 minutes total, depending on the week). We usually have brunch following the run.
-Sunday Interval Training - 10:00AM: Meet at SFSU Cox Stadium for dynamic stretching and short, efficient workouts to improve speed and endurance. Go to the SF Track & Field workouts page (link) for more info. http://www.sftrackandfield.com/workouts
