Happy Friday!

This last week we had a party for Pride volunteers, volunteered and competed in the 5th annual Pride Meet, and posted another great Runner Bio interview… all in addition to our usual runs! Keep an eye below for a special announcement for the month of August.

Pride Volunteer Thank-You Party: On Friday, Dennis Nix hosted a party at his house for those who volunteered during events on Pride Weekend. We had a great turnout, and enjoyed food, drinks, and of course, company.

Thanks, Dennis, for offering your place for the party!

SF Track and Field Pride Meet: On Sunday, the San Francisco Track and Field Club held their 5th annual Pride Meet.

This year's events took place at Chabot College in Hayward and they had more registrants than ever before!

Athletes competed in a variety of events, and the volunteer crew was a wonderful asset to helping the officials and set-up and take-down.

A special thanks to all of the organizers for putting on an amazing event!

Runner Bio Interview - Michael Merriman: Longtime FrontRunner Michael Merriman provided us with a great Runner Bio interview this week. You can read the interview here (link). While you are at it, you can check our all of our other interviews and learn more about your fellow SFFR Members.

Special Announcement: We are making August a month to spread the word about the club to others and help attract new members. There will be special events, including a dive bar night and themed run, so stay tuned for info and help promote the club to friends, family, and people who might enjoy the club!

Important Reminder: On Saturdays, we have been running for 3 months now in the reverse direction of the usual courses. We are now switching back to the traditional directions for each of the runs. We will have someone on each run this weekend to help guide you if you are new or have forgotten the old course.

Member Card Reminder: If you have renewed or signed up for FrontRunners for 2012, you can pick up your card at any Saturday after the runs. Allow for 2 weeks between registering and having your card printed. You can also email vp@sffr.org for a replacement.

As always, we welcome submissions for events, photos, news articles, and columns.

That covers it for this last week.

Enjoy your weekend and see you at the runs!
