Welcome back from the weekend! Here is your weekly source of all things FrontRunners that are coming in the days ahead! Special news and events are at the beginning of this post and regular, reoccurring events are on the lower half.
Special Events/News This Week:
-Special Announcement: Member Month concludes this week! All events have been posted on our site in a special post that you can view here(link). We have one event left that is taking place this Friday. Come and celebrate it with your fellow members and friends!
-SF FrontRunners Member Month Party - Friday, August 31st - 7:00PM and on - 471 Noe Street: Our final event for Member Month is a party for SFFR Members and their friends! Join us and Byron and Brian's place between 7 and 9 ish for food and drinks. We'll then head to a bar or 2 in the Castro. Price is free to members and $5 for guests. Full info here (link). -Newcomers and Women's Outreach Day (formerly the Women's Run) - Saturday, September 1st - 9:00AM to 10:00AM - Stow Lake Area: The Women's Run has evolved into a more inclusive event - Newcomers and Women's Outreach Day! This is now going to be on the first Saturday of each month and will include all of the runs/walks. It will be a great opportunity to invite anyone and everyone to come along and check out our club. It will also serve as a great starting point each month for inviting newcomers back to events/runs/walks throughout the month! Full info here (link).
Regular Events This Week:
-Tuesday Evening Walk/Run - 6:30PM: Meet at the Ferry Building for a 1-2 mile, 3 mile (5K), 4 mile (6.5K), 5 mile (8K), or hill run along Embarcadero. We typically grab dinner afterwards.
-Saturday Morning Walk/Run - 9:00AM: Meet at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park for a 1, 2, 3 (5K), 4 (6.5K), and 5 (8K) mile run/walk. We also now offer the Cross Training option that meets immediately after First Circle to go over the routine for that day. We meet back at Stow Lake for 2nd circle at 10:00AM and then go to official brunch at the Morning Due or elsewhere.
-Sunday Long Run - 10:00AM: Meet at Gold’s Gym in the Castro for a long run (70 to 100 minutes total, depending on the week). We usually have brunch following the run.
-Sunday Interval Training - 10:00AM: Meet at SFSU Cox Stadium for dynamic stretching and short, efficient workouts to improve speed and endurance. Go to the SF Track & Field workouts page (link) for more info. http://www.sftrackandfield.com/workouts
