
Happy Labor Day, and what a sunny day it is! Here is your weekly source of all things FrontRunners that are coming in the days ahead! Special news and events are at the beginning of this post and regular, reoccurring events are on the lower half.
Special Events/News This Week:
-Special Announcement: We are seeking volunteers for the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge Water Station. For full info on the event and how you can volunteer and help raise funds for the club, head here (link).
-Special Announcement: We have our JOCK fundraiser coming up on September 23rd and will be needing volunteers to serve jello shots to guests at the Lookout. Full information on the event here (link). If you are interested in being a sexy server, send an email our way: board@sffr.org
-September Movie Night - Friday, September 7th - 6:00PM and on - 235 Hartford Street: Topher is once again hosting an awesome movie and game night with free pizzas! This month's film is Hunger Games. Check here for full info (link).
-Little Black Dress Run and Bagel Brunch - Saturday, September 8th - 9:00AM to 11:00AM - Stow Lake Area: The annual Little Black Dress Run returns! Join us for a great event this Saturday during our regular runs/walks. We will have a special course for the Little Black Dress Run and will be giving away awards following the run during Bagel Brunch, put on by Steve Benne of Molto Benne Catering (link). Regular Events This Week:
-Tuesday Evening Walk/Run - 6:30PM: Meet at the Ferry Building for a 1-2 mile, 3 mile (5K), 4 mile (6.5K), 5 mile (8K), or hill run along Embarcadero. We typically grab dinner afterwards.
-Saturday Morning Walk/Run - 9:00AM: Meet at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park for a 1, 2, 3 (5K), 4 (6.5K), 5 (8K) mile, and special Little Black Dress run/walk. We also now offer the Cross Training option that meets immediately after First Circle to go over the routine for that day. We meet back at Stow Lake for 2nd circle at 10:00AM and forgo the usual brunch for Bagel Brunch ($7 per person).
-Sunday Long Run - 10:00AM: Meet at Gold’s Gym in the Castro for a long run (70 to 100 minutes total, depending on the week). We usually have brunch following the run.
-Sunday Interval Training - 10:00AM: Meet at SFSU Cox Stadium for dynamic stretching and short, efficient workouts to improve speed and endurance. Go to the SF Track & Field workouts page (link) for more info. http://www.sftrackandfield.com/workouts
