By Brian Ray

Your summary of the week's past events!

The weekend is upon us! Here is your dose of weekly recap!

This last week we continued our 2013 Member Registration push, continued to find volunteers for our Water Station at the Kaiser Half (February 3rd), continued interval training with SF Track & Field Club, began nominations for the 2013 Pride Run beneficiary, and got in our fancy new 2013 Member Cards… all in addition to our usual runs/walks!

*Please note that we are having a grace period between now and February 1st where you will still receive weekly emails from FrontRunners if you registered for the 2012 Year. This correspondence will cut off, in addition to your member privileges, on February 1st unless you have renewed or joined on for the 2013 year. Because we will be sending messages to both 2012 and 2013 member groups, some SFFR members will receive the same email twice during this period. This period will not last long, so we thank you for your patience and look forward to amazing year!

2013 SFFR Member Registration Continues! 2012 Member Cut-Off date is February 1: Time to renew if you already haven't! We are already planning some great additions to this year's activity/event line-up, so If you are new to the club or enjoyed last year's offerings, now is the time to join up for another great year! Head to our homepage (link) and follow the "Register" arrow to become a member for 2013. Head here (link) for some info on the perks involved with being a member. You can also check out some updates and details on what member dues options are available here (link). If you encounter any problems renewing, please email us at board@sffr.org

SFFR Kaiser Half Water Station - Volunteer Deadline Passed: Our search for volunteers for the SFFR Water Station during the 30th annual Kaiser Permanente Half Marathon (February 3rd) has concluded. Our deadline for submitting names and shirt sizes was Tuesday this week. If you missed the chance to sign up, you can still sign up and volunteer, but we cannot guarantee that you will get a shirt or invite to the Thank-You dinner. If you are still interested in being part of another amazing water station and fundraiser for our club, shoot an email to president@sffr.org

Interval Training with SF Track & Field Club: Coach Chris Goodwin demonstrated how to do 25 meters of lunges during interval training at SFSU last Sunday to the 17 guys and gals who attended the 10am weekly practice at Cox Stadium.

Each exercise is followed by a 25 meter jog, then members break up into individual groups for long and short distance runs or sprints. If you are interested in participating, contact Bob at callori@sbcglobal.net or check out the website at www.sftrackandfield.com

2013 Pride Run Beneficiary Nominations Open: The time has come to select a beneficiary for the 2013 Pride Run. To nominate an organization or group, send an email with the name of the nominee (and website) to board@sffr.org. Voting will take place in early February.

2013 Member Cards are here!: Our 2013 Member Cards have arrived and we have prepared the cards for everyone who has already joined on for the 2013 year! Check out the design, which is a new take on themes from the website and last year's card:

Upcoming: 3rd Annual All Bay Area FrontRunners Valentine's Meetup and Potluck (Saturday, February 9th): Join fellow FrontRunners from all 4 Bay Area clubs for a potluck and party at SFFR Member John Chisholm's condo complex at 333 Main Street. Full details here (link). We are also seeking 5 volunteers to help set up and clean up. If interested, please email president@sffr.org. We also are looking for anyone with a keyboard that our pianist can use during the event. See you there!

Extra Tidbits:

-Dan Joraanstad and Bob Hermann are hosting "A Little Night of Music: Benefiting San Francisco Gay Mens Chorus" this Sunday at their home. There are limited tickets available for this event, so if you are interested in an evening of delicious food and drink and an amazing musical program, contact Dan at djoraanstad@gmail.com.

-Our friends who are organizing the Dirty Girl Mud Run (February 2nd) (link) are looking for volunteers to help before and during the event. As an awesome bonus, those who volunteer in the early portion of the event get to run the course for free. To volunteer, simply head to their website (link above) and select the "Volunteer" option at the top of the page!

-Team SF (link) is holding a dodge ball competition for local LGBT teams in SF on February 9th! Head to their page and check it out!

That covers it for this last week.

Enjoy your weekend and see you at the runs, walks, and events!

As always, we welcome submissions for events, photos, news articles, and columns.
