Start/Finish: South entrance to the Golden Gate Park Polo/Soccer Fields, Middle Drive West, off Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive (MLK).

  • 5K (3.1 miles) - 1 loop
  • 10K (6.2 miles) - 2 loops

Race Directions

Start off on Middle Drive West and head west. Merge onto Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Take a right on Chain of Lakes Drive East. Take a right on John F. Kennedy Drive. Take a right on Transverse Drive. Take a right on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Take a right on Metson Road to the finish line.

For the 10K, Metson Road merges onto Middle Drive West. Repeat directions for a second loop.

Driving Directions
 
  • Coming from Downtown: go west on Fell Street, through Panhandle; cross Stanyan Street, entering Golden Gate Park, and immediately bear left, onto Kezar Drive; this merges into Lincoln Way; stay on Lincoln Way until 25th Ave; turn Right at 25th Ave into the Park; turn Left onto Martin Luther King (MLK) Dr. going West; pass "Mallard Lake" on your left; next road on your right is Middle Drive West; park on MLK and walk up Middle Drive West to Race Start; look for the Rainbow Balloons!
     
  • Coming from Great Hwy/Ocean Beach: go East on Lincoln Way; after very short block, turn Left into GG Park onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive (MLK); pass de-constructed Murphy's Windmill, at road junction, go straight; pass 41st Ave; pass "South Lake" on your left; next road on left is Middle Drive West; park on MLK and walk up Middle Drive West to Race Start; look for the Rainbow Balloons!
     
  • Coming from the Castro; go North on Castro St. past Market St.; this turns into Divisadero St.; turn Left onto Fell St.; follow direction for "Coming from Downtown" above. If you are coming from a night of celebrating on Friday night: don't drive, take a taxi, get to Golden Gate Park, the fresh air will do you good! ;-)
Public Transportation:
 
  • SF Muni N Judah streetcar to 36th Ave/Sunset Blvd., then walk 2 blocks to GG Park and up Middle Drive West in the direction of the Polo Fields to Race Start; look for the Rainbow Balloons!
     
  • Line 29 bus to 36th Ave/Sunset Blvd. (at Lincoln), then enter GG Park and up Middle Drive West in the direction of the Polo Fields to Race Start; look for the Rainbow Balloons!
     
  • Line 71 to 23rd Ave (at Lincoln) , then enter GG Park at 25th Ave.; go Left onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive (MLK), headed West; pass "Mallard Lake" on your left; next road on your right is Middle Drive West; walk up Middle Drive West to Race Start; look for the Rainbow Balloons!
