Member since March 2023
Current shoes ASICS GEL-Kayano
Hobbies Freeform dancing, salsa, and bachata

A proud running accomplishment

Cole completed two marathons when he was younger: the Carmel Marathon during his senior year of undergrad and the Paris Marathon in 2015. Knees willing, he would like to run at least one more.

A favorite SFFR memory

Cole crossed the Golden Gate Bridge on foot for the first time with SFFR on New Year's Day. The group was soaked by the rain, but it was an exhilarating way to begin the year.

Fun fact

Cole studied Irish step dance for more than 10 years. As a teenager, he also trained dogs and taught dog agility classes.

Beyond running

He is fond of dancing, whether freeform, salsa, or bachata, though he notes that fondness should not be confused with skill. After a recent two-pair affair with Altra, he also returned to his longtime ASICS GEL-Kayanos.

A proud athletic accomplishment

James completed his first Olympic-distance triathlon at the Gay Games in Valencia.

A favorite SFFR memory

While preparing for the triathlon, James's SFFR family helped him shop for a bike, took him open-water swimming, cycled and completed brick workouts with him, and offered endless encouragement.

Fun fact

Some of James's earliest running involved chasing after, and being chased by, the family cows whenever they escaped the pasture.

Beyond running

James took up skiing a few years ago and enjoys having another way to experience this beautiful corner of the world.
