Welcome to 2018! Here is your weekly dose of all things FrontRunners:
Thanks/Recap From Last Week:
SFFR presented the PRIDE Run check to Project Homeless Connect last Saturday! Great work everyone, and thank you for giving back to your community! SFFR also hosted a board sponsored bagel brunch. I hope you all enjoyed those Jimmy Deans.
1) The Election Committee has been selected.
FIVE members have been appointed to the Election Committee. We added a very loyal and special member to the Election Committee. Please thank our newest addition, Steve Kotler.
2) Little Black Dress Run- October 6 @ 9am.
The Annual Little Black Dress run or LBD which began in 1999 is here again giving you the opportunity to stride through the park in your swankiest, slinkiest, snazziest, skimpiest, sassiest or sluttiest little black dress or in any way you want to make a fashion statement. After strutting through the park for about 2 miles we'll sashay over to the catwalk for judging and prizes hosted by Chuck Louden and Reggie Snowden as well as a bagel brunch. Regular Saturday runs will also take place for those not inclined to seek the inner RuPaul.
If you don't have time to go shopping, contact Bob at firstname.lastname@example.org and he will bring some extra dresses. Meanwhile watch the video for ideas and accessories.
We also invite you to check out our History page - https://www.sffr.org/history
3) "LOVE SIMON" October Movie Night - October 12 @ 7pm
Food: 7pm; Pizza, BYOB
Description: Everyone deserves a great love story, but for 17-year-old Simon Spier, it's a little more complicated. He hasn't told his family or friends that he's gay, and he doesn't know the identity of the anonymous classmate that he's fallen for online. Resolving both issues proves hilarious, terrifying and life-changing.

3) Homeless Connect Volunteer Opportunity- 10/24, 2 shifts 10am- 1pm & NOON- 3pm
100 service providers are in a convention style format at Bill Graham Auditorium. This “one stop shop” model provides many services that could not otherwise so easily be accessed.
The most needed role is that of of "guide." The clients register and select the type of services needed on a form. You meet the client with their form in hand and help them find the way through the maze of vendors to that service which is most important to them. Or another role would be to volunteer at a specific service provider. You might work in the food pantry area handing bags of food. You might work at the cafe making sure that everybody who wants to eat gets fed. You might work in registering clients as they enter the auditorium. Click HERE for more information.
