By Liem Nguyen

Welcome to 2018! Here is your weekly dose of all things FrontRunners:

Thanks/Recap From Last Week:
Thank you Gary P. for hosting movie night. What a great turn out!

1) Vote, Vote, Vote! We would love to hear from you!
Starting now and until December 1st, there will be 3 different voting or nomination periods. We have End of the Year Awards & Feedback, PRIDE RUN Beneficiaries, and the 2019 Board Elections. To make it easier for everyone, we will break it up into three periods. The time period now until 10/27 is to nominate your fellow members for the coveted end of the year awards and give us your feedback of our organization.

Please participate as the data collected will be used to enhance your experience with SFFR.

Please check your email to give us your feedback and cast your nomination.

2) Volunteer to host the Halloween Party .
The club is looking for an individual (preferably who lives in the Castro) to host our annual Halloween party. If interested, send an email the board at board@sffr.org. The suggested date and time is October 27 from 7-9pm.

3) 2019 PRIDE Run Beneficiary Nominations
The time has come to select our beneficiary for the 2019 Pride Run! We're opening up nominations to all members this week, with a goal of getting down to the final list next weekend. On Saturday, 10/27, we will have representatives from the final list come out and present at second circle, after the Saturday run. After that, we will open up voting to the whole group and finalize the beneficiary by mid-November so we can get started on fundraising for next year's run.

To nominate an organization, just fill out the survey in the link below. Note that only complete submissions will be considered.
Looking forward to learning more about the great organizations you want to support!

2) Homeless Connect Volunteer Opportunity- 10/24, 2 shifts 10am- 1pm & NOON- 3pm
100 service providers are in a convention style format at Bill Graham Auditorium.    This “one stop shop” model provides many services that could not otherwise so easily be accessed.

The most needed role is that of  of "guide."  The clients register and select the type of services needed on a form.  You meet the client with their  form in hand and help them find the way through the maze of vendors to that service which is most important to them.  Or another role would be to volunteer at a specific service provider.  You might work in the food pantry area handing bags of food.  You might work at the cafe making sure that everybody who wants to eat gets fed.  You might work in registering clients as they enter the auditorium.  Click HERE for more information.
